Keystone Wedding at North Peak and the Outpost

Let me just start off by saying WOW! This was seriously such an amazing and beautiful wedding and I am so glad I was able to be a part of it. Brian and Annie are such a wonderful couple and their love and joy shows in EVERY photo! Brian graduated from West Point and is in the Army and Annie is a second grade teacher. This is a bit of a destination wedding since they live in Philadelphia, PA. Brian and Annie love snowboarding at Keystone, so they chose to do their engagement photos during the winter on the slopes with their boards and to have a summer wedding on top of the same mountain.

I started out the day photographing Brian and all of the guys at Expedition Station in River Run.
Then we headed over to the Lone Eagle Condos where the Bride and her girls were getting ready! The condo had a big common room with two bedrooms, a few balconies and a view of the River Run Gondola and the Mountain Bike races going on that weekend.
All of Annie's details complimented her perfectly!
Those shoes are beautiful and the jewelry is gorgeous!
Because you want to have good breath before you kiss your groom!
After we were delayed quite a bit of time (lightning), we took the Gondola up from River Run to Dercum Peak!
From there we walked over to the Outpost Gondola and rode over to North Peak where their ceremony would take place.
The beautiful ceremony set up overlooking Whale Peak from the Keystone Outpost.
The aisle decor and the music added so much to the ceremony!
The run right below the ceremony was very fitting: Anticipation!
And anticipating their beautiful bride... the Mother of the Bride and the Groom waited for Annie and her dad to come down the aisle.
Seeing the bride come down the aisle is always one of my favorite moments!
Right as she came down the aisle, the rain came.
The stormy peaks made such a dramatic and beautiful back drop!
But they didn't mind the rain. It just made the photos even more beautiful!
So much love and joy!
After the ceremony, we headed over to Dercum Peak to photograph their bridal portraits. They were actually supposed to get married right over School Marm where we took these photos, but with the weather, they opted for North Peak and the Outpost instead.
Lake Dillon and the peaks beyond made such a gorgeous background for their photos!
We took some of our favorite photos from their engagement session in this spot... so we had to return for more!
We headed back to North Peak and the Outpost to the Timber Ridge Lodge for their reception!
Their vibrant wedding colors popped so well against the mountain lodge!

What can we expect from you: There are so many things that are important to my photography style and make up the unique approach I have to each portrait session and wedding, but I will narrow it down to a few key things.

Personalities. Locations. Moments. Fun.

Each and every one of my clients is different. They all have different interests and unique stories. I pride myself on creating photographs that compliment the story of the couple and their friendship together.

I recently photographed Colorado Rockies pitcher and 3rd overall draft pick, Jon Gray and his beautiful wife's wedding. We photographed their bridal portraits together at Coors Field. His wife Jacklyn had contacted me a month or so before the wedding to see if I would be available to tenitively photograph their wedding so long as he had been called up to the big leauges. This was all up in the air, because that is how Major League Baseball works for these guys and their families... so his wife was planning 3 different weddings because they didn't know where they would be. When Jon was called up, the wedding in Denver was a go. The day finally came and after they said their vows in front of their parents (and me) and shared their first dance, we headed to Coors Field to take their couple portraits. We parked in the player's parking lot along the back side of the stadium and entered through these huge garage doors into the tunnel where we were greeted by the staff. As they entered the field through the huge door in Left Field, I captured them walking together hand in hand with all of the seats and lights of Coors Field high above them. That photo spoke to me. It told the story of their journey to the big leauges. It spoke of the debut Jon Gray had with the Rockies a little over 2 weeks before their wedding. Although I will never really understand the excitement they were feeling about Jon taking the mound for the first time in his Major League Debut and saying their vows to each other their wedding day, this image has so much significance to me. In my eyes, I see them hand in hand, taking on this new incredible journey in the Majors together, as husband and wife.

Every single one of my couples are unique. They have their own story to tell. I love to go to Keystone where they grew up skiing or snowboarding to photograph their engagment session. I love going to their family ranch and putting the bride on their horse in her wedding gown. I love climbing down the cliffs at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego to show how much my clients love surfing together. I love telling stories with photos. Sometimes it's something only the bride and groom will see. Sometimes it's something their families and friends will see and sometimes it's something the whole world will understand, but it is my job and passion to capture that moment.

For me, location is a huge part in telling everyone's story and then painting a beautiful picture of it. As a travel obsessed photographer and someone who loves to stand in awe of the landscape in front of me, the location is a huge tool I use to tell my client's story. The location doesn't need to be sentimental either. Sometimes it is about creating a new memory or moment in front of that backdrop. I draw a huge amount of my inspiration from the back drop... usually that is the foundation of each photo. I've been blessed to photograph in the 16th century Spanish fort Castillo San Felipe Del Morro in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico and on the National Mall in Washington DC. I've told the stories of my clients on the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas, on Coronado Island in San Diego, CA, and at Copper Mountain and Maroon Bells and the Broadmoor Hotel here in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Pretty much every place on earth has unique beauty and it is a very big part of the end result of my images.

I love having fun with my couples and doing something new. In my opinion people are the prettiest when they are laughing and enjoying themselves. I will ask you to be silly and to have fun. I will make stupid jokes and probably look really akward laying on the ground in the middle of the sidewalk in Downtown Denver. I will push the limits and create new and beautiful things.

This is my pride and my passion. This is what I love and I cannot wait to share it with all of you.
